Biography

Pamela White Murphy
I have a BA in Art Therapy and in Fine Art from Anna Maria College in Paxton, MA. as a non-traditional student.

I have been the owner and art instructor of The Artist Palette since 2001 where I have been teaching fine art to children and adults, along with small groups and private therapeutic art workshops. Returning to college to pursue a career in Art therapy has enabled me to expand my knowledge and skills as an artist and toward my dedication to helping children with learning disabilities and with children on the Autism Spectrum.

I had formal training at the Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston, MA., the DeCordovaArt Museum in Lincoln MA., and The Boston Center for the Arts.

I have studied with various artists through private lessons and have been associated with the Visiting Artist Studios since 1998 and The Blackstone Valley Art Association since 2001. I have received several awards through these organizations and have had numerous showings and exhibits throughout New England and have sold many of my works.

I was raised in upstate New York where Niagara Falls was my backdrop to my first inspiration to paint nature. My other inspiration comes from many different sources: books, photographs, still life, nature, my garden, and my dreams. Pastels and oils along with watercolor and charcoal are a few of my favorite mediums to work with. I reside in Syracuse, Utah.
